You Were Promoted. Then Left to Figure It Out.

No training manual for:

- Leading authentically when "professionalism" was designed for code-switching
- Making strategic decisions when you're still learning the unwritten rules
- Setting boundaries without being labeled "difficult" or "not a team player"
- Advocating for yourself when the system wasn't built with you in mind
- Regulating your emotions while everyone's watching and judging
- Building trust in rooms where you're "the first" or "the only"
- Showing up with presence that commands respect, not just compliance

They called it "a leadership opportunity."

You called it survival.

And when you struggled? They acted like it was a performance issue.

But here's the truth they won't tell you:

The gap isn't your leadership ability.
The gap is the roadmap they never gave you.

We're closing that gap.

Welcome to Your Leadership Roadmap

The Intentional Leadership Conference isn't another "lean in" event that asks you to work harder or shrink smaller.

This is tactical, skill-building leadership development that honors who you are while equipping you with the tools you actually need.

🚗 7 Sessions = 7 Critical Leadership Competencies
🚗 2.5 Days = Transformation That Lasts Beyond February
🚗 100 Leaders & Allies = Your New Professional Family

This isn't inspiration.
This is preparation for the road you're already on.

THE 7 SKILLS THEY EXPECT (BUT NEVER TAUGHT YOU)

Your Roadmap to Intentional Leadership

STOP 1: Cultural Identity → Authentic Leadership & Trust

We take our culture into every room we lead in  whether it’s acknowledged or not. This session is led by our very one Candice "Coach C" Miles who will give leaders permission and practical frameworks to lead as themselves, showing how cultural identity strengthens authentic leadership and trust rather than undermining it. What most leadership development never addresses is the trust tax of code-switching  how performing professionalism quietly erodes credibility, decision clarity, and leadership sustainability and this session finally names it.

STOP 2: Wealth → Negotiation & Long-Term Strategy

Leaders are expected to make strategic decisions without ever being taught the language of money. This session by financial strategist Kenya Lee builds negotiation skill, financial fluency, and long-term thinking so leaders can advocate for resources, connect impact to outcomes, and lead with strategic confidence. This is how good managers become leaders who influence direction and compensation.

STOP 3: Dating & Relationships → Boundary-Setting & going with your gut

Leaders are taught how to stay in control, make decisions, and lead with authority  but rarely taught how to take the leadership hat off and allow softness, receptivity, and rest in their personal lives. This session with Relationship Strategist Marshaun Olaniyan helps leaders tap into feminine energy to set boundaries with sound judgment, stop over-functioning in relationships, and lead with clarity instead of control. Sustainable leadership requires knowing when to lead  and when to let yourself be supported, held, and loved.

STOP 4: Black Hair → Psychological Safety & Confidence

Hair health is often treated as cosmetic, but for leaders, it’s a stress signal. Chronic pressure, burnout, and lack of psychological safety show up in shedding, thinning, breakage, and long-term hair loss  especially for Black women navigating high-stress leadership environments. This session by Twyla " San Diego Hair Doctor" Green equips leaders with practical education and tools to understand the connection between stress and hair health, recognize early warning signs, and take actionable steps to protect both their well-being and their leadership longevity.

STOP 5: Mental Health → Emotional Regulation & Leadership Sustainability

Emotional regulation isn’t a wellness trend  it’s a leadership competency. Leaders who can’t regulate under pressure make reactive decisions, damage trust, and burn out quietly or publicly. This session by Sydney Johnson, LMFT, teaches practical regulation tools that support clearer decisions, healthier teams, and leadership that lasts.

STOP 6: AI & Executive Presence → Strategic Influence & Future Readiness

Executive presence is no longer just how you show up in a room  it’s how you think, decide, and influence in a future-shifting landscape. This session Corporate Transformation & AI Optimization Strategist, Miena Joseph helps leaders understand how AI is reshaping power, visibility, and credibility, and how to use it as a strategic tool rather than a threat. Leaders will build future readiness by learning how to speak with authority about what’s next, make smarter decisions faster, and lead with influence in rooms where the future is already being shaped.

STOP 7: HR & Workplace Rights → Self-Advocacy & Risk Management

Strong leadership doesn’t prevent workplace violations strategic self-advocacy does. This session builds leadership skill in risk management by teaching leaders how to recognize policy breaches, document effectively, and navigate HR with clarity instead of fear. Leaders will walk away knowing how to protect their credibility, advocate for themselves, and lead confidently without sacrificing career longevity.

Closing Keynote: The 7 Trust Languages with Minda Harts

We're closing the weekend on Sunday with an intentional, moderated conversation featuring Minda Harts, New York Times bestselling author of The Memo and The 7 Trust Languages.

Because leadership that lasts requires trust, clarity, and space to integrate not just more information.

Minda Harts is an award-winning author, professor, and advocate for equity in the workplace. Her work focuses on building trust, creating belonging, and dismantling the barriers that keep talented leaders from thriving.

This isn't a motivational speech.
This is a strategic conversation about how trust shapes leadership and how you can build it intentionally.

Some rooms shift how you lead.
Some conversations shift how you see yourself.

This closing session is both.

This Roadtrip Is For You If...

✓ You're a first-time leader navigating management without a blueprint

✓ You're a Black woman or woman of color leading in predominantly white spaces

✓ You're an HR or L&D professional building diverse leadership pipelines

✓ You're an ally committed to building truly inclusive teams (not just saying it)

✓ You're tired of leadership training that ignores identity, culture, and real workplace dynamics

✓ You're performing "professionalism" and losing yourself in the process

✓ You're making it work but burning out doing it

✓ You're ready to lead with confidence, clarity, and community

You don't need to check every box.
You just need to be ready to stop driving alone.

Meet Your Guide: Candice Miles, CEO & Founder

Candice Miles (Coach C) founded No Gap Consulting because she lived the gap.

As a Black woman navigating leadership for the first time, she experienced:
→ The isolation of being "the only one" in the room
→ The exhaustion of code-switching through every interaction
→ The frustration of excelling but not advancing
→ The burnout of trying to lead without a blueprint

She refused to believe this was the only path.

So she built a different road.

Today, Coach C has:
✓ Coached 100+ leaders through first-time management transitions
✓ Facilitated leadership development for Fortune 500 companies
✓ Hosted the Intentional Leadership Conference (launched 2024)
✓ Created the "Roadtripper Community" for ongoing support
✓ Pioneered Cardio Hip Hop Confidence Classes (embodied leadership)

Her approach?
Leadership development that doesn't ask you to leave yourself at the door.

No Gap. No Limits. Just Leadership Our Way.

Coach C believes:
The best leaders don't code-switch their way to success.
They show up fully, lead intentionally, and build community along the way.

That's what ILC is all about.
